A Message From the Edmonds/Pelley Family:

Twenty-three year-old son Jason Edmonds died on January 29, 2000 in London Ontario in an auto crash. On April 27, 2000, London Free Press headlines announced that investigating officers of the London Police Service had determined the incident to have been caused by road rage.

Also killed in the crash were Jason's friends Shaun Lodge of London and Stewart Farnum of Toronto, both twenty-one.

All three were innocent passengers in a vehicle driven by a 21-year old driver who was eventually found guilty of careless driving, having responded aggressively and recklessly to the inappropriate behaviour of another driver.

We have subsequently undertaken the establishment of The Jason Edmonds Foundation for Road Safety, with our goal being to educate the public about avoidance of the types of incidents which caused Jason's death. We feel our personal perspective may help others to avoid the tragedy we have suffered, and through a series of presentations to health & safety conferences, businesses, and schools this mission is being accomplished. In these audio/visual-rich sessions we describe what happened to these young men and suggest why it occurred and how it needn't have ... if either of the drivers or the passengers had been better prepared to handle the situation.

Road Rage From a Family's Perspective:
"The Unfinished Song"

As of Fall 2009 this message presented primarily by Jason's dad, Joe Edmonds, has been delivered in person to over 60 thousand people. Listeners young and old have found inspiration and helpful lifesaving information in Jason's story from all corners of Ontario, and as far afield as Winnipeg MB, Moncton NB, Maine and Ohio USA.
Please see "Where We've Presented" under the "Presentations" heading.

Having presented at many major health & safety conferences, including the World Health Organization's International Conference in 2002 and many Industrial Accident Prevention Association regional events, Joe Edmonds has not only earned a reputation as a highly effective session speaker ... but has also delivered powerful, memorable keynote addresses. All of the above contributed to his receiving a Road Safety Achievement Award from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in 2004. "As much as I am honoured to receive awards, professional recogniton and kind words of support from those to whom I've spoken, the true satisfaction comes in knowing Jason's story is saving lives..." (Joe Edmonds)

Note: this presentation is adaptable to many time allotments from 30 minutes to well over an hour.
